"Allow user to switch.... " alternatives for it?

Considering the wide screens entering the scene I would like to have more options altering game window at runtime.
We have the 'change screen resolution' and the 'windowed' version.
I would love to see a 'Maximized with color border' as an alternative to the windowed version. It would look better IMO at least for our project.

Could this be done today with some work around, a background app covering the screen regardless of resolution maybe?
Will something like this be possible in a later build/version or is there no demand for such?

Can't you use the "Maximized at boot up" and "No heading when maximized" options and change the background color of the window? Maybe I've misunderstood what you mean though.

We want to have the 'change resolution' when people own a screen with the same proportions to give best feeling of the game.
When they have a wide screen we would like to use the option you mention 'Maximized at boot up' instead of the windowed option.

With our "old game" (released in 2000 and still selling) todays screen resolutions is way beyond our 640 x 480 we started out with. In that game we use similar to 'Maximized at boot up' and now the game looks like stamp in the middle on modern screens. [wink]

The ultimate for us would be for the user to be able to change back and forth between 'Change resolution' and 'Maximized at boot up'. Or even better to be able to change between several resolution. [smile]

At the moment I think each frame is a sub-form inside the main application window. You can see this by showing the dialog frame of the "edit window" using the Window Message Object.

What would be great was if you didn't need to predefine the window size and the frame would render at all window sizes. (at the moment nothing will render if you resize the window to something greater than the initial screen resolution)
