Change Fill color active system object

I am changing the fill color of the act. sys. object-
I can change the colors just fine by inputting various numbers, but I do not understand what I am doing, it is a trial and error process. The code is not hexidecimal and it is does not seem to be based on values of 1-255 for RGB. I even tried ARGB codes but nothing predictable happens. I have the app colors set to 32000 (or whatever that middle setting is).

what I do is use the Color Selector object. [obj_colors] I can't remember the exact code, but something like:

When Color is Selected, Set INI value to Selected Color.

Then you can see the resulting number of the color you select.

    EDIT:
you don't even need to use INI... just set counter to the Selected Color.
