    Serious problems.

When i'm in the event editor and i scroll back to the start of the code mmf crahes, no error reports, nothing, it just closes. I've tried it on the latest version, and the one before.

    What do i do know?

I'm getting really fed up with trying to make games in mmf.

As far as i know i've done nothing wrong. I can run the game, compile it, it works fine. But know when i try to view the events it crashes.

Are you using any particular objects in your program, or do you have some different view, or zoom on the event editor?

Dont know if your game is private or you can upload a version that crashes

    thanks

I've tried earlier versions of the game, they work. Its the latest save.

I'm only using the standard extensions. And i've added no new ones since the this last save.

I don't want to upload the source, its private and quite large now.

    Re: Serious problems.

Is there something different with the latest save (any changes that might cause it).

Perhaps upload it to a private FTP, so we can download it privately, then we can see if it crashes on our machines.

    thanks

    Re: Serious problems.

Theres no apparent changes. No new objects added, all i've done is add some more code. Whats strange is that the code i added is on an event line above 1000, but mmf crashes when i scroll below event line 150. It fine until i try and scroll below that. I havent even altered any of that code.

I'll try copying and pasting the new code in an earlier save and see if it works.

    Re: Serious problems.

Not been able to crash it using just 1000 + random events.

Thats alot of events, are you using groups? Do you have all your groups expanded?

If your groups are expanded, try collapsing them and seeing if it still crashes

    Re: Serious problems.

    Yes they're grouped and closed.

I've tested the older version that i just checked and which worked. When i copy and paste the new code over it still worked.
But then when i renamed the alt values/alt string names its crashing again.

It's so odd, the games works no problems, and the code is nothing complex, why crash when it gets below a certain line?

The Alt string name is "type 2 state", and alt value name is "type 2 random time".

    Re: Serious problems.

Okay i've just loaded up the version thats crashing and changed the alt value names, its not crashing any more. Haha.

Now if i change it back it crashes again. I guess mmf doesnt like those names.

    Alterable values names

Any chance you remember what names you were trying to use for the alterable values?

I thought all the researved names were blocked but maybe a couple still exist that cause problems.

    Re: Alterable values names

    I already posted the names.

Alt value name was "type 2 random time". I removed the random and it works now. Put it back and it crashes again, but only if you scroll below line 150.
