    Paying for custom extensions

Does anyone build custom extensions for money? Like a contractor/consultant?

I have been known to do contracts from time to time. What exactly are you looking for?

Vortex 2 did a great job for me. He knows what he's doing.

    Re: Paying for custom extensions

    Hi Vortex,

    In short,

I want to be able to read the coordinates/viewpoint for the camera of a vrml file and feed coordinates/viewpoint to it.

There are already several browsers that have active x controls that are usable in mmf. They have told me how to do it, but I don't know what it means.

    Re: Paying for custom extensions

    1. Download Flux Player Metal Machines
    2. Locate Anima.ocx (Mine was located in C:\Program Files\Media Machines\Flux) and register it by going to "Run" and typing: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Media Machines\Flux\Anima.ocx"
    3. Find a *.wrl file (An X3D scene)
    4. Open MMF 2, save .MFA file to a directory, place *.wrl file in same directory.
    5. Add an ActiveX control to the frame as an X3D Scene type.
    6. In event editor do Start of frame-> Custom Actions->Part #1->Setsrc and enter Appdrive$+Appdir$+"nistlogo.wrl" where nistlogo.wrl is the name of your .wrl file.

    I got this result:

    Re: Paying for custom extensions

    FYI,

Flux player is a vrml/x3d browser that has active-x controls that can be be accessed in MMF after you download the browser.

AKA instant access to a 3d scene in MMF.

The browser/active-x can be customized. I want to be able to give and take information from the file in order to be able to control it via MMF.

To successfully do this would be to create a layman's 3d game engine that recieves it's commands from MMF.

There are many people who could do what I want quickly. The trick is finding someone who can do it while conforming it to MMF extension specs. There are probably pitfalls to making an exension that only those who have made them before would know about.

I'm discussing the possibility with Vortex. Though I'm not sure whether or not he will end up doing it, I must say I am very impressed with his dealings with me. I would rec considering him to anyone who is serious about having an extension built and is willing to pay for it.
