Recording screen/Colorful Background (please help)

1. I need to record everything seen on the screen for a period of 1:00. I tried using the screen capture object to capture frames and convert it into a video, but the screen capture object won't capture other selected programs running. Anyone know of an extention that will do the trick?

2. I need to make a moving, colorful background. Should I use the overlay redux? Any suggestions?

For the second question, construct your background on a layer behind your other objects. You can then scroll it independently of the rest of the frame, and all objects on it will appear behind those in the layer that contains the main game. (Your description is a bit vague, though.)

I know what you thought I meant, but I'm actually trying to make a program that generates a flowing, colorful image. Maybe it will help if you think.........hippie. I know what to do with it, but i'm trying to make it. I'm just looking for help so that I can get started in the right direction.

I know what you're talking about on your second question. But I don't know if MMF can do it.

For the first one though, the simplest thing to do is to use an external program. One of ZD Softs screen capture programs would work nicely. I think some of them are free licenses.

I heden't thought about using a program other than MMF2. I should take a look.

For the second question, I'm sure it is possible. I've seen things like it done before.

I use CamStudio (SourceForce) to record videos. It is free, but not integrated into MMF2 as an extension would be.

Ok. I solved the first problom (thankyou Joshthek). I still need help on the second, though.

"CamStudio" seems to be a hack of Camtasia Studio or vesa versa, even the codec.

Awesome, i just checked the source, its in C++. Can someone be so kind to copy'n paste this into an extension? I checked the licence and it is allowed. Imagine what sush an extension would add to MMF. One button screen recording.
