    Password Protect USB Flash Disk

I've been pulling my hair out on this one. How does one detect the insertion of a USB Flash disk and have the completion of the drive installation depend on a condition (IE password correct)???

I'd appreciate any help with this. Through use of an extension or otherwise.

    Help!!!

    Dan

Re: Password Protect USB Flash Disk

The USB drive is detected by Windows, the only way i could think of doing it, would be when running a program made in MMF check the current drive letters, and then keep doing a check. When a new drive letter appears that would be the USB drive. Not great but just an idea. But the issue is that is doesnt mean that the device being connected is the USB flash drive (could be an external usb CDROM for example).

I think a more specific extension would be needed.

Someone else might have a better idea.

You could allow the user to manually specify the appearing letter on a setting screen or something. Some people have their CD-Rom as D:\, some as E:\ etc so why not let them see what letter works for them and have a drop down list of all drive letters or let them enter it themselves?
