? How to reverse the order of frames in animations

    Hello,

I was wondering what the quickest or best way is to reverse the order of the animation frames in an animation. I have an animation of a Health/Energy bar filling up with 87 frames in it. I'd like it to go the other way so that it's a decreasing gauge instead of increasing. This would help my game's appearance somewhat.

Unfortunately, in MMF2, you don't have much space to look at the frames in your animation, and can't scroll while grabbing a frame, either. So, trying to move one frame at a time would be a major hassle. The way I know how to do it, I'd have to move the selected frame only about ten spaces each time I grab it, when it has to be moved about 80 frames.

If anyone can give me some help I'd appreciate it. Even if there's something like the "Move Frame" thing from MMF 1.5 it would help very much.

    Thanks,

    Neonotso

I would do it this way...

    - Create a Counter
    - Set Its Type as Animation (it should now appear as an active object)
    - Now edit the animation of your active with all the health bar frames in and select all the frames and copy them
    - Now close the animation editor of the active and edit the animation of the counter
    - Paste all the frames into the counter.

Now its just a matter of setting the couter to the value.

    IE

    Every 1 second Add/Subtract 1 from counter...

Re: ? How to reverse the order of frames in animat

I tried your suggestion. It doesn't work so well for what I'm using the object for. I'd have to add another layer to the frame and some other things I'd rather not deal with. Thanks for giving me advice, though.

Basically, the object is a Health/Energy gauge. Its AV1, HealthEnergy, is set to 87 (the amount of frames) * Health Bar Size (a global value). The animation frame is set to 87 / Health Bar Size.

    Anyone have a different suggestion?

Actually, I think I found a way to fix my problem. So, unless I come back, I don't need help with this (though I'd still like an easier way to move animation frames).

How about doing it the way it was supposed to be done?

Just right click on the direction you want to reverse, does exactly what you described.

    supposed to be done?

If you want to reverse the animation yes, but for a health bar, Its most likely supposed to be done with a counter set to animation, it saves on the extra event, and actually using an extention for what its there for.

although Neonotso if it doesn't quite work using a counter fair enough.

Oh, that's a cool feature. Thanks! I didn't think of right-clicking on the direction thing.

Re: ? How to reverse the order of frames in animat

Personally, I find it much more efficient to create an active object, take the frames I want to be in the counter, reverse them, then copy them back into the counter. It's much easier then expecting to find a slick method or rapidly dragging frames around, if you ask me. [crazy]

Yeah, I agree that that'd be easier.
