    Reading data sent to the speakers/sound device?

    Ok, here's the problem:
    I am making an application that can read data being sent to the speakers and save it as an Mp3 file. I've thought of couple vauge possibilities:
    1: I thought about using the MCI object, but I doubt that that would work, since I have abot zero knowledge in this area.
    2: I thought about some how having the output information put in a text file and saving it fom there.

    I don't know if either will work, but any advice or comments would be appreciated.

    If this is for yourself, and not for a general application you're making, you can easily record speakers output by just plugging your audio output wire into the red audio input, and then recording it.

    But i really don't know any way of doing what you want in MMF.

    Nick, great help! Yes, I am going to use it, but I was going to release it as well, so thanks for the tip, but I'm still wondering if there is a way to record the data being sent to the speakers.

    Just a note: I have MMF2 regular.

    Now, I have one more Idea, so if anyone has any comments, I'd appreciate it.
    What if the program played the file and recorded what data it was sending to the speakers?

    If this is for yourself, and not for a general application you're making, you can easily record speakers output by just plugging your audio output wire into the red audio input, and then recording it.
    Or much better, select "wave mix" as the recording source. I can't think of a single sound card which doesn't let you do that.

    The only other possible way I can think of, if is you use a virtual audio loopback driver.

    Re: Reading data sent the speakers/sound device?

    Thanks, Nifflas. Just two things;
    1: Where do I change that setting?
    2: And, do you know if MMF2 can record the data being sent to the speakers in any way?

    Anyway, thanks you guys.
