I'm considering to migrate to ubuntu or something

so what about the click experience in the linux systems and wich is the most appropriate OS (is WINE required I guess)

does it run the same/how/pro-cons etc?

    thanks

    Re: For Linux?

ubunto is a horrible os, they treat old programs like trash (xampp)
anyway, you would need WINE and none of the extensions that require directx will work (crashes) and from what i remember only actives work, MMF2 itself will not work

    Re: For Linux?

MMF2 does, in fact, work very well with more recent versions of WINE! Also, since MMF2 isn't so dependent on DirectX, apps created with it work very well. I've unsuccessfully tried to get Game Maker games to work with it.

It would be cool to see a Linux runtime, though I'm sure it would take a lot of work on Clickteam's part. Adding hardware acceleration, and perhaps taking advantage of OpenGL may make a port easier down the road.

There really aren't a whole lot of good games out there for Linux, and MMF could help to change that. I have my own personal reasons to hope for a Linux runtime, and one of them is to perhaps create portable GP2X games.

    Re: For Linux?

Getting Linux compatibility would be very useful, for example, playing games on my Xbox (even tho Id prefer to be able to compile xbox apps).

    Re: For Linux?

look you are all on about "oh xbox" but it WONT WORK, amazingly the xbox has a unique button map, which is why there is gentoo for pc and gentoox for xbox, not only for hardware but so the mouse has been changed and so on, you would need to program ON the xbox to get controller mappings into MMF2, unless your using a keyboard and mouse which tbh is really stupid when you can just use a pc seeing as an xbox has 64mb ram (MMF apps will run crap on this) and 700mhz (seeing as a bit is used by the bios, quite a bit is used by the os to make up for lack of ram) so say your left with 250Mhz, MMF2 games might run but mmf wont unless you have machine independant speed which would make them look absolute crap, so can you just stop asking about the xbox becasue IT JUST ISNT GOING TO HAPPEN

    Re: For Linux?

I think we have to be realistic, at the moment there are no plans to get MMF working on any console.

    Closing.
