Order/customer/email data base handeling with MMF?

It seems I'll be "forced to" create a semi web based handeling of customers, orders and such.

Should Vitilize be used for this? And can Vitilize handle it?

Or is it possible to handle it via a MMF client app on the local computer?

I'm a bit confused as to where I should start. Don't feel like doing too much in PHP, though I probably will need some PHP to connect client-web-data base.

Any ideas and suggestions to get me started would be much appreciated. [smile]

Well i guess so, but depending on what you are trying to do, it may be better doing it another way.

Can you go into a bit more information on what you are trying to do?

If you are going to use Vitalize on a website, I have found that unless people use MMF, they won't download Vitalize. To them it just seems like another 'dodgy' plug-in.

Re: Order/customer/email data base handeling with

We will create a new site for orders/customers and store those on our MySql db.

All sorting, deleting, confirming and similar will be handled within the browser on the site. The ok orders will then be printed from web to local printer (which has been a problem solving earlier) on special forms for post delivery.
There will also be a "download section" handling orders where the product is downloaded instead of shipped.
The plan so far is that we will handle Swedish and Finnish orders our selfs while other languages are handled maybe with Amazon, Kagi or similar. This will be a later issue. [crazy]

It is not a very difficult project per se but it has to be tailored to fit our needs. Our current routines for this is not db based. Customers fill in the forms on our site and we receive the orders via email. We then handle the emails and customers with an application I've made a few years back (not MMF). Orders are stored on the computer (and backups of course). [smile]

We need to have it more automatic with less steps for handling. When/if we get the current project done the workload will probably be 10 times of today so I want to be a step ahead and have it working already with the current product.

If you are using Vitalize then you'll have to make your app in MMF 1.5 or lower, as the MMF2 version hasn't been released yet. Yes, you could probably make an application in MMF2 that could do it. I don't see why you are so averse to PHP tho.

Re: Order/customer/email data base handeling with

I'm not against PHP it is just that I don't have the energy right now to learn all that'd be needed. I've done some work with it a couple of years ago but nothing fancy.

Actually the only issue I need to solve, to start with, in a "pretty" way is how to print customized prints from the browser. For example:
35 orders have been made and are stored in the db after submitted by the customers. Later I log on and should be able to have these 35 orders "lined up" and be printed one after the other automatically and from the browser. I can do this one by one but haven't solved the batching(?) of them.

I want to avoid having too many manual steps to complete this. Like downloading orders as text files and similar.

I'm not very good at explaining this, sorry. [crazy]
