Sound Volume

Hi,

I want to play a particular sound clip, sometimes soft sometimes louder. My approach has been:

Speaker: Set volume of sample A to 10 (for soft)
followed by playing the sample,

and
Speaker: Set volume of sample A to 100 (for loud)
followed by playing the sample.

But it comes out the same regardless.

I can adjust the sound of a channel successfully but using the set sample volume I have had no success.

I thought you had to play the sample before setting its volume, but I could be wrong.

If it have not been changed in the latest build, you must indeed play the sound first. This can however result in short pops, since the first points of the sample might play at full volume before the new sample volume is set. To avoid the problems I had with that, I always used "set channel volume" instead, and then play a sound on the specific channel.
