    If you must have it done that way (as opposed to having tiles with shadows), you could use a layer in front of the backdrops and behind the main character's layer.

    Maybe an option could be added in the obstacle properties of backdrops like "no effect on collisions".
    But Alonso is right, you can add a layer wih contain your shadows...
