    4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

    HI, from Portugal!

I have some questions about this limitation.

Is this true? Does MMF2 have 4000 events running simultaniously limitation?

Has you can see, my project have about 1700 lines already. I question... Does the comment lines count to the 4000 limitation or i have to erase them if i have to get more events free?

Does the Group line count too to this limitation, or just "events" count and the lines included by comments and groups don't count?

Does this limitaion is about lines or pure events?

Do you know any other limitations in MMF2.

    - 20.000 objects in frame.
    - 26 alterable values in each active object.
    - 10 alterable strings in each active object.

These are the ones eyone know, but looks like it may have others and my project may push some limitations of MMF2...

    So many questions

    THX in advance...

Re: 4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

It's not exactly 4000 events running, it's 4000 events displayed in the event editor. You seem to use many groups, closing them will reduce the number of events displayed and resolve the problem.

Perform a search if you want more information (Yves posted about this only a few days ago)

EDIT: Forgot to say, I think any line counts whether it's a condition or not, but i'm not sure

Re: 4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

This is the topic where Yves posted about it, in the TGF2 forum:

    http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=32529&page=1&nt =2&fpart=1

Also, the limit of visible events is just about the lines and not the number of conditions or actions in your lines. Seriously, the only ones who would be irritated by this would be the ones who doesn't divide the events into groups. But I doubt there is very many who has 4000 lines of events without any groups.

Honestly I don't think you have to worry.

Also, Pedro, I saw your project in an other topic too, I like Magic the Gathering and I would like to wish you luck for your project!

Re: 4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

    THX for the replies!

yesterday i've read the topic and i thought it was 4000 events running, but now i saw the light, it was 4000 simultaniously displayed... GREAT

This game is becoming very cool, i'm dividing it into Cyles (Ravnica, Kamigawa... etc).

When the Starter set is ready i'll put it for people to download and play it... Just keep waiting... (Maybe Christmas 2007, or sooner

    THX again

Bare in mind when groups are closed, they only count as 1 event. In that screenshot your groups are closed, and so you really must have a lot more events than you think.

Maybe think about a more efficient way to program it though, if you're getting worried.

Re: 4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

Just because someone told us that he had made a program with 3800 events. 4000 was an unreacheable limit in my mind when I programmed it, I was wrong.
And memory is big on nowadays machines.

Re: 4000 Events Limitation in MMF2?

Why do you have put a limit ? Maybe it's possible to dynamically allocate memory for displaying events ?
But 8000 events is a nice limit.
