    Online Multiplayer

Hello all. I downloaded the demo of TGF2 and completed the tutorial it came with, which was quite fun.

But I want to ask, can I create an online game with TGF2, with as many players as I want? and can you build a dedicated server for your game, so that a server can run it or a normal desk top?

If so, does any one have any tutorials on this, or helpful sites?

    Re: Online Multiplayer

can I create an online game with TGF2,
Yes. You can use the Mooclick or Moogame extensions. You used to have to buy these, but they now come free with MMF2/TGF2. You get more extensions with Multimedia Fusion 2, which could be helpful in creating your game. Making complex online games isn't for beginners, tho - you have to become familiar with the software first.

with as many players as I want?
No. Not even commercial games can support unlimited players. The amount of players supported depends heavily on the type of game, but you should be able to have at least a dozen people in one world at a time.

and can you build a dedicated server for your game so that a server can run it or a normal desk top?
Yes. Both MMF2 and Java dedicated servers are possible. Just remember that a server needs fairly good upload speeds as well as download speeds. There are however several public servers kindly provided by members of the community (see a list here).

If so, does any one have any tutorials on this, or helpful sites?
Simple tutorials on how to make a chat application can be found in the Mooclick Video Tutorials. Links to other tutorials, guides and examples can be found here at the Click Wiki.

    Re: Online Multiplayer

Thanks Josh, thats cleared my mind a bit. I only really need around 6-8 players in the same world at once, because I plan on making a game for a clan of mine.

But I doubt ill be doing that for a while. I want to read all these other tutorials listed on the site, then ill give my online game a go when I know a lot more
