I need a COM port serial extension (paid work)

Hello!

I need a COM port serial extension, and I don't have time right now to mess with the MMF SDK. I know there exists a few ActiveX I could use, but I prefer to pay somebody to make it in MMF2 and release the extension free to the community than paying another company for an ActiveX that may tie me with royalties.

All I need is the basic funcions of the classic hyperterminal app:
- Configuration (baud rate, flow control, etc)
- A good input buffer (be generous with the size)
- Send a text file (I could live without this, but it would be nice)
- Receive the input and save it as a text file (the same for this one).

Well, I would be glad to find somebody that could help me. Please contact me and make an offer (price and aprox. date of delivery). When it's done, we'll release it to the community.

I think it's a very useful extension for the MMF2 users that are more application oriented than game oriented.

i know how you feel, i had to use turbo pascal because MMF didnt have it which was a right pain, and there was no other application or program / open source that i could use for less than £10,000,000.
There is LPTOUT.exe which can control the LPT port but meh

Director can use Port COM with plugins (like MMF) but it will be better to use a plugin in MMF2.

You could use C# 2005 Express and look at: Serial Communication in C#

It isn't an MMF 2 solution but it might be better for your purpose.

Thank you vortex, but I want to use the capabilities of user interface that MMF2 has, and I'd prefer not to use external executables. I know the C and VB code for serial communication is simple and I made a little program to send serial commands in VB long ago, but I'd like a nice extension in MMF2. I don't have experience with the MMF SDK, and right now I don't have time to learn.
