    Timed shot

The player can shoot every time the SpaceBar is pressed, if he holds it down, I want a bullet to appear every second to stop a continuous line of shots being produced.

Can anyone clue me in please

You could use "Repeat while space is down and every second" perform shoot routine.

Don't use the "Every" condition - that will limit you to being able to fire every time the timer reaches a multiple of 1000, rather than putting a delay on from the time you first held the space bar. Use "Restrict actions" in the Special object > Limit Conditions instead.

I've created a "restrict actions for 01"-00" but not sure how to incorporate the space bar being pressed. You couldn't give me a quick step-by-step could you?

OK - right-click on the "Restrict actions" event you have and select "Insert" to add a new condition. Then go to the mouse/keyboard object, select "Repeat while key is pressed" and use the Space bar. The "Repeat..." condition as opposed to the "User presses a key" condition allows the event to trigger multiple times when the key is down, rather than once when the key is pressed.
