    Viewport troubles :(

I'm helping another member of our team with his platform game. He wants to zoom in on a character when they talk (needless to say this is a scrolling game) so he turned to viewport. It seemed to be going ok, except we can't get it to view the source region around a specific object, the games frame is about 4000-5000 pixels long this object is at 3228... I've tried heaps but I can't get it to work. Could someone maybe make an example and show me how to do this? I tried setting source region etc, maybe I just got something wrong, but I've been trying for ages.

If the source region of the viewport is off-screen then MMF2 does not render that portion of the screen, meaning the Viewport object can't see it. You can get around this by making the window size large under application properties then making it smaller using the Window Control object.

I see but you can see the region we're zooming into because it scrolls there... Shouldn't it be able to get the image from that?

No, if it's not on-screen then all the objects won't be being drawn, at best you'd be able to get just the background, but it doesn't do that.
