    Question about background

    Greetings,
I downloaded MMF2 demo copy and have been exploring around it since last night. I admit it looks good. After going through a sample tutorial I wanted to try importing one of my own graphics.

the question I have, is if you use a seemless background, how would you make it scroll in the vertical position as if it were lets say a moving starscape for a shooter?

The next question I have is could you layer it with another background , such as somthing with nebulae and make then going in the horizontal or diagnal position?

I realize these are somewhat cheezy beginner or noobish questions and I apologize for that.

I am liking what I see so far.

ok, I cant resist, with practice and persistance would it be possible to eventually make a diablo like clone for 1 to 4 players?

    Re: Question about background

The Tutorials and Learning Resources page features this tutorial on scrolling and should hopefully answer your first questions.

For the Diablo question: Check out Atu'los Online (it is made in MMF). It is a lot of hard work, tho.

    Re: Question about background

    Hi and welcome!

While not impossible, making a Diablo clone would probably require you all the knowledge of MMF2 you could ever get..
It's an extremeley difficult game to copy, and even a simple clone of it would take ages and alot of hard work to make.

MMF2 makes some games a dream to make, but for a diablo clone there are just so much that MMF2 wouldn't help you with.
For instance, if you're going for the same isometric view, you'll need to animate the gfx for all the characters in the game in at least 8 different angels.

And even if you're a god at making graphics, diablo is a very complex game with alot of mathematical formulas regarding spells, items, experience and such.

I don't want to scare you, I just say that you might want to aim at something a little smaller at first. When you get the hang of MMF2 you'll be more aware of what games of your dreams you eventually will be able to create
