    Animation Stall or Lockup

Hello. I am creating a game in MMF 2 Standard (installed and updated release version update from 5/9/07) and have run into an animation stalling issue when the game is played.

The game has a single player who is controlled by the left/right arrow keys and spacebar. Animation is as follows - The player is ‘stopped’ initially, then ‘walking’ right with right arrow and ‘walking’ left with left arrow (5 animation frames each). The spacebar activates the ‘jumping’ animation sequence (8 animation frames).

When the game player switches rapidly and often between walking and jumping (arrows to spacebar) - the animation locks up or stalls. Then it will no longer jump and will only face a single direction, appearing to glide (forward or backward) rather than walk when the arrow keys are pressed.

I hope this is not a stupid question. I went through all postings I could find that appeared possibly relevant but did not find the solution. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Maybe you could upload an example so we can have a look at it.
The only thing I can think of is that the animations might not be set to loop..."I think"

    Re: Animation Stall or Lockup

Thanks for offering to look at it. I think I figured it out last night. My virtual memory was low so I closed out an app. The problem improved slightly. I rebooted and kept only MMF2 open and did not have the problem again while testing the level. As my virtual memory usage increased, the problem came back, so for now at least, I am chalking it up to that.

    Thanks again,

    Mike
