File performing badly after conversion to MMF2

Could anyone take a look at this file to see why it runs so dreadfully when converted into an MFA?

It runs great in MMF1.5 but it's totally useless and very choppy in MMF2. I've written to Clickteam about this but they seem to be too busy to deal with it at all.

the files can be downloaded here:
    http://www.xbomber.co.uk/files/xb-026.zip

Any help anyone could offer would be really appreciated.

Try that instead - it has no powerapp dependency and is a newer version of the file. Plus a few more of its extensions have been cut recently too, might make things easier.

    Thanks for trying...

I'm having the same problem with some of my mmf1.5 games also. They run great in 1.5 but are choppy and slow at times in 2.

I've still got no clue what causes it, so I've decided to re-write the game from scratch in MMF2.

    Hi, Benjamin!

I would try installing MMF2 on a different computer and testing your game on that. I tried this at my end and for some reason MMF2 / the game runs fine on one PC and poorly on another. The problem machine was tested before and after a Windows XP total format (and is roughly equal to the other PC in terms of hardware). This means that there has to be a problem during the installation of MMF2 that causes the runtime to operate poorly on certain machines.

I haven't a clue what's causing it but that might be your problem. If that doesn't fix it I wouldn't even bother contacting anyone at Clickteam for support. I've been really disappointed of late, since they've had my file well over 2 months now and I've emailed them 3 times about it, but they're "too busy" to work on a 'non-important' problem. This just tells me that they should employ someone else rather than put all customer issues to one side until who-knows-when.

At the end of the day MMF2 claims to be able to convert MMF1.5 applications and if not in your case then that's false advertising as long as the problem is not rectified.

You shouldn't have to abandon your good work over an issue such as this.

I would recommend just staying with MMF1.5 until you are done with that application. Make the switch between applications instead of in the middle of one.

Re: File performing badly after conversion to MMF2

Well that's true enough. MMF1.5 is a good program and I've used it happily and successfully for a long time but by the same token the program is a bit long-in-the-tooth. Support for it has almost died (although the same could also be said for MMF2) and MMF2 has a lot of features that are long overdue and should probably have been included as a service pack to MMF1.5 of sorts.

I'm not even certain whether MMF1.5 / an MMF1.5 application will run under Vista. You might oppose Vista but I don't think we can hold back the tide forever.

As I say I've finally got mine to work fine now and people shouldn't necessarily be put-off from doing the same.

I have to argue with this post completely.

Support for MMF products is great, maybe not so much directly from the Clickteam staff. Thats mainly because they are busy fixing bugs etc that they know exist.

But as far as the community goes, if you post a problem here, most of the time people will look at it, make examples, try and help you out. They ask for nothing in return either.

I have never seen a community that is so understanding of other peoples problems, and will try to help them without actually dropping them insults.

A MMF1.5 Application will run under Vista but MMF1.5 itself won't (or at least I couldn't get it to)

I defiantly agree with spike on that. All click products have wonderful support. People take time out of there day so that they can help the community and they ask for nothing in return.

Well, you're not 'arguing with my post completely', only opposing a specific point. I think you may have overreacted a little.

I'm not criticising the Forum users' efforts. They've been most helpful to me in the past. However, a forum of users does not really qualify as product support. When it comes to runtime issues you need support from those who wrote the software.

When you consider that my game has been put on hold for several months and that I've received absolutely no help from anyone at-all I think you'll agree that the support from CT has been less-than-stellar on this occasion.
