Attacking active object from TGF2 library

There are already animated active objects in the library that have attacking as one of the animations. But when I add the object to the frame - what movement properties do I have to set to get the object to appear as if it were attacking? I have tried the eight direction, but that didn't seem to work. Are there certain key strokes that you have to assign to get it to attack? If so, where are these located?
    Thanks

    You have a couple choices

If you have a character use the "shoot an object" action it will play the shooting animation automatically.

Another method would be to use the change animation actions to force the character to play a different animation at the desired time.

I'm sorry - but could you explain this a little more? Where is the shoot an object action?

Where do you choose to change animation actions?

Under the icon for the active object in the event editor.

You can find the actions for shooting and some actions for changing animations if you want to change them yourself.
