    Small game runs slow?????

    I have a 92KB game containing:
    - 1 frame
    - 2 Active objects
    - A speechbubble object
    - A quick backdrop
    - An ini file
    - A string
    With events for a conversation to take place between the two objects. It takes forever to load the game and it's still slow after it loads. I don't understand this because I have a 2,374KB game that still runs fine. I restarted my computer, but that did no good. Any ideas as to what could cause this?

    What color mode and screen size are you using.

    256 colors and a 320x240 or 640x480 screen would be appropriate for this.

    To be honest, as far as i can see in MMF2 there is no difference in frame rate at all between 256 colours and 16 million colours, even if you're pushing your application to the max.

    Have you checked your events to make sure you havent got an enormous loop going on?

    Uncheck "DirectX" and "VRam" in the properties of your application, set the fps to 50 or 60, uncheck "compress application" in the application properties and test again...

    @Nick

    I see a huge difference in speed but only during scrolling.

    @Gerblegod

    I had that in MMF1.5, but it seems completely fixed in MMF2 for me. It's odd that it fixed for me and not you, do you have the options Sphax suggested unchecked?

    Yep.

    I guess it is just my system specs.

    Try checking machine independent speed?

    Are you continually trying to read from/write to the INI file? That can make a huge impact on performance on some hard drives (or particularly if you're running it from a USB drive).

    I'll try all of those in a sec, but I'm on a Mac right now. I'll try to answer your questions:

    My frame size is 2000X900 and my window size is 640X480. The problem is not in my events because I tried deleting all of them and playing the level. The problem continued. I have everything else set to default options.
