Coloured Text using Rich Edit Object

I'm trying to have the Rich Edit Object change the colour of particular words or text strings as both the user types them or when a piece of text has been pasted into the object or a file has been opened.

Think of how many HTML editors colour the various code syntaxes. That's what I'm after. Is there any easy way to achieve this using MMF2 Developer? Thanks very much in advance everyone

(A small tutorial if possible would be out of this world =) )

Well you could just use the RTF object itself

I will upload it to the file forum

Re: Coloured Text using Rich Edit Object

Thanks. I took a look at what you posted and although its useful, it's not what I had in mind totally. I had tried something similar myself.

Imagine either having a MASSIVE screen of text. I want to have certain strings in different colours and for it to not go over and over wasting valuable CPU cycles; additionally 'live' colouring would be great - in other words if you typed "hello" then it recognises that and changes the colour to whatever.

Also I cannot have it effecting the Undo or Redo functions. For example if I wanted to undo, then it should remove the edit I did and not JUST the colouring
