    [bug?] External Sounds

In my game I have all my sounds stored externally and I use the play sample file function to play them. When I test my app by pressing F8 in MMF2 everything's fine. But if I build an exe of it no sound plays, I have confirmed that letting MMF2 embed the sounds makes them play still but no external files do. I have tried both appdrive$ + appdir$ + "file.wav" and "./file.wav". Both work in MMF2 but not in an exe. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong (or if it's a bug)?

are you putting the .exe in the same directory as the .MFA? If not, you need to.

    Re: [bug?] External Sounds

When you're playing external sound files, MMF can't automatically tell which sound filters to use. In the Application Properties edit the Sound Filters, uncheck 'Automatic' then check 'WAVE'.

    This happens all the time.

Could we have a warning pop up (when running the .mfa) when it tries to play an external file and the filters are set to "automatic"? Ditto for images.

Yup that's one of the most asked question. Probably in the top 10 with "Can't display string/counter in front of.."
