    Yaso.cox - Trojan Horse?!?

My AVG scanner has picked up Yaso.cox as a potential trojan... is this a false positive? It comes up as Trojan Horse Generic5.TKT

    Thanks,

    Steve

I imagine it's a false positive - I've been getting quite a lot of those with AVG recently, but not on things related to Clickteam.

Check it using an online checker, then submit the file to AVG.

AVG doesn't seem to have the same quality control as other antivirus companies have. I belive that most antivirus companies holds a dictionary over the false positives they've had over the years and then scan through those after every definition updates to ensure it doesn't happen again. If that is the cause I don't think AVG does that

If you have the latest definitions and it gives MMF stuff as a false positive then please follow the AVG guidelines:
If you suspect a file to be a false positive. Test the file at [virusscan.jotti.org] and if it is a false positive, archive (zip, arc, tar etc) the file using a password and email a copy to virus@grisoft.com with a brief description as well as the password you used to archive it with.

If it is a false positive , turn off hueristic scanning for the time being. When Grisoft adjusts the virus defintions you can turn it back on. If turning off Hueristics still doesn't allow access to the file while testing and emailing... disable the resident shield temporarily.
