Question RE: Online Lobby System

I have found a lot of great MOO click examples out there the show how to login to a game or MMORPG, but was wondering if there are any examples of a more typical multiplayer lobby setup. I hope to feature online multiplayer in my next game and would like a simple way to click "Online mode". Then you could either create a new game/lobby or join an existing lobby. Any examples of a list of available online games/lobbies? Any help, advice, or suggestions would be great. Thanks so much!

I'm not sure if I know what you want, but I just posted a online registration/login system and it may help you with what you want. It should be the 2nd or 3rd thread in the MMF2 file archive.

Basically what I'm looking for is a more user friendly online lobby system example. Again, there are a ton of great Mooclick examples that throw a bunch of different players into the same game, but that's sort of the last step. I'm looking for a starting point. A login/registration system is not really what I'm looking for. The best examples I can think of are pretty much any Yahoo online game or Xbox Live game. You get a list of all the available games and join them to boot up the match or can create your own room, table, etc. Any examples of such a lobby system?

I made one for an online draughts game ( SHAMELESS PLUG) which uses MySQL and PHP to keep tab of current players and games... is this what you mean?

If you're using MooClick you could make all players join a channel "LOBBY", then when someone joins the lobby, the people that hosts game will send a string, like "My game, 5 players, Stage 1" etc., and it'll then be listed for the person with the lobby.

I'll be releasing the .mfa for download once i've fully commented it. I might charge for it though as a lot of work went in to the game!
