    Flame Object

With the coming of HWA Flame object most likely will need to be completely rewritten, so intill then I thought I should release what we have thus far...

    http://gamesare.com/tools/flame/flame.htm

Please Test and Review and based on your comments and me creating some documents I will release tonight!

Check out the Demo and the Gradient Maker as well that comes with the object...

    Re: Flame Object

Thank you for releasing this object Chris.

I still need to find some time to understand how this object works so that I can optimize it (and see how the HWA version could be done)...

    Re: Flame Object

I love the presentation you done at the CC07 so I'll love your extension.

Is the flame effect is rendered in a Surface or directly on the frame ? If the flame is rendered on surface, maybe the speed will be the same with HWA.

    Re: Flame Object

Great! I was wondering when this would be available. Just from the pics at site, I thought it went in the ultra-cool, great effects zone.

First, let me know that the installer did not find my location for MMMF2. That's minor.

After checking out the demo that comes with the object ... it knocked my socks off!!! Obviously it is much more than a "flame" object and you don't expect what you see and realize you can do with it.

The fireworks were incredible and beautiful, BTW.

I am getting very good frame-rates with this, but I can see that the timing is great for a version that supports HWA. You could really BUST LOOSE with effects when you want to.

Five thumbs up and I am enjoying this one, above and beyond its practical uses.

Thanks to you and the developer, Chris.

Do I need to make complicated Documents or is it self explanatory, if it is to good to go without the docs I can release to the public today?

    Re: Flame Object

Well, I don't see any help file, but there are a few things that users need to know. I mean docs could come later, but a quick-start guide might be helpful, perhaps?

    Maybe cover:

What position on the layer does the object have to be in and why, (front/back).

Remind users that they have to use "always" to get the effect. I first assumed, just playing around with it, that auto-update meant that, and maybe I don't know what I am doing? They also have to have the Flame Object resized to cover the are that the object they are setting aflame is going to be/move within.

I didn't quite understand how getting the flame gradient, (vertical) from another object actually works. I mean, does the object have to be a gradient or does it pick colors in some way?

Understanding just a little bit about the cool-map in a quick paragraph would be helpful, as well, (how it works, what happens when you set it to use another object).

So, if that sounds useful and necessary, and you could get a quick, quick-start guide ready, then today would be great for release.

Later on, I am sure some docs could be made or will emerge.

    Re: Flame Object

Oh, just one thing about the installer, could you install the example in a Flame Object folder in the MMF2 Examples folder? Instead of installing them in the MMF2 Help folder with the help files.
