    Aero in MMF?

    Is it possible to have the whole window implement Vista's AeroGlass on MMF? I know you can do it on Visual Basic and C++; perhaps its an idea for an extension.

    Re: Aero in MMF?

    Do you mean being able to use Aero when MMF2 is open?

    If so, yes : edit the file Exts.ini in the Extensions folder, locate the [kcqtw3.mfx] section and replace it by:

    [kcqtw3.mfx]
    cats=none

    This will prevent the QuickTime object from being loaded at the beginning, i.e. you won't be able to insert a new QuickTime object in your application unless you restore the cats entry to Video (or anything else). This object prevents Aero to work with MMF2, I've to check if we can fix it.

    I think wizkidweb meant using the glass/transparent function in MMF2 applications.(Just like this) But I'm not sure though.

    Funny how I never had any problems with the Aero theme and MMF2. Even disabling the Quicktime3 extension didn't chance anything.

    Re: Aero in MMF?

    That would make the program only work correctly on Vista, wouldn't it?
    Last time I checked only 8% of clickers (based on the visitors of the extensions list) use Vista, means a lose of 92% of possible users! It's huge!

    If the application is run on a different Windows OS, or with a with a different theme, I believe the background will change to a default color (which is, if I'm correct, theme based). It's basically eye candy for Vista users with the Aero theme.

    Oh, In this case it's fine.
    Although I still can't understand why people would want their OS look like glass. :P

    Re: Aero in MMF?

    Well, I'm making a simple install program that determines whether or not the user uses Vista or other versions of Windows, installing the appropriate version of the program. It is a timer utility with a bunch of features, so i want the window to be more subtle. That's why I want to put glass on it.

    Also, I think it looks cool.
