    Default email - predetermined Subject line

    I'm new at this - please excuse my ignorance!

    How do I get a predetermined subject line when opening the default email software like Outlook or Outlook Express?

    Thanks!

    If you're opening the email client by using an emailto with the Vitalize object, you can do it with:
    Code:
    mailto:someone@somewhere.com?subject:Sausages,+Plants+and+Goldfish

    Thanks for the advice - however, it does not work. I have "mailto:someone@somewhere.com?subject:Sausages,+Pl ants+and+Goldfish?" and only the email address appears in Outlook - no subject line.

    Oh, so it is - I don't know how I mistyped that.

    It looks like there's some disagreement as to the safest way to give an email a subject, and Netscape was the one to blame for it...

    Re: Default email - predetermined Subject line

    Internet Explorer and Firefox both support the mailto:person@website?subject=meow syntax, which covers 99% of browsers. I'd be surprised if any browser with more than 0.001% marketshare didn't support it.

    EDIT: Here is a page explaining the different options you can add to the mailto: line: http://www.ianr.unl.edu/internet/mailto.html

    Re: Default email - predetermined Subject line

    I have now found the correct code with all the possible functionality (at least for Outlook);

    "mailto:your@email.address?cc=jose@email.address&b cc=john@email.address&subject=Comments about the color blue&body=The following is everything I have to say about the color blue ......"

    Thank you very much for the advice and pointers! :grin:
