    Re: Backup

What I always do it save 2 pairs of back-up files. One pair goes in the "games" floder. The other goes into "backup2" folder, which is located on my desktop. This makes it safer.

    Re: Backup

from now on, save the game as "game_1_01.mfa"

make some changes, then save it as "game_1_02.mfa"

make some changes, then save it as "game_1_03.mfa"

make MAJOR changes, then save it as "game_2_00.mfa"

make some changes, then save it as "game_2_01.mfa"

Move the older ones in a folder called \Game\Old
and burn that folder every so often (weekly, at least)

Then, you have lot of save points...

NEVER just have one .mfa of your game!

    Re: WTF?!

At last check The Walking Dead is @ Build#599_65k.mfa

My Zombie_Game folder contains 989mb worth of saves. The Walking Dead so far is almost an even 10 mb each. The other weight are the artwork files sound samples and re-samples etc...

    • 599 stands for the latest save that I've changed something, anything, I save if I edit a graphic, I save if I edit a value. So it's about to be 600 because after I play test it and everything works and it doesn't crash that's a stable unbugged version so far.
    • 65k stands for the amount of colors the game uses.
    • mfa is the MMF file extension.mfa. You don't add the mfa part.
    • Next the folder is again duplicated on a separate computer network which is for back up storage.
    • Again on this same computer I back up on a separate hard drive, and also backed up online.
    • Next this folder gets burned to CD-R every week, sunday to be exact.

Part of being a game designer/graphics artist/3D modeler/computer sound engineer whatever is also to learn to BACK UP YOUR WORK.

Do you guys/gals think Yves and Francois have just one copy of the MMF source code in one folder? MMF would never be here.

    Re: WTF?!

Sorry for your game. How many time do we have to say that you must make backups of your work? If you do not want to do it manually, just use the AUTOBACKUP feature in the preference panel!

    Re: WTF?!

I equally once suffered this matter, is really a brain person, but the TGF in past automatically recover most datas from the Qi future reunion, I think of TGF, more mature edition.......

    我同样遭遇过此事,真是脑人,但以前的TGF从启后会自动恢复多数的数据,我怀念TGF,比较成熟的版本. ......

    Re: WTF?!

We need to know what build anyone with this problem is using to see where the issue might be. So please advise.
