does any one know any tutorials on the grappling beam from metroid? i found a few but no beam

i guess that you could make a grappling hook that reaches out and grabs a poll or something by doing something like this:
when player presses enter, create new object (grappling hook).
have an aimer, so when the player presses enter the grappling hook shoots out in the direction of the aimer. if the grappling hook hits a pole it will bring the player to the poll that it hit. hope this helps :grin:
