How to check if you are connected to the internet?

Is there an easy way to check if you are connected to the internet?

I want to have my app launch at startup, and then start workin' once the 'net connection is up

I currently have a text file on a server that just has "1" in it. every 10 seconds, the app tries to DL the file from the server. If the file exists, it loads the file into a editbox. if the value of the editbox = 1, then it goes to the next level.


Is there an easier/better way to detect that the net connection is up?

Yes, the YASO object has a condition "Is connected to the internet?".

You might want to try the Live Receiver object for a text file- it will prevent unnecessary usage of the hard drive.
