    Hero Keeps Getting Stuck, any ideas?

    Hi everyone,

    I'm very new to MMF2 so please excuse my ignorance :blush: But I could really use some technical advice if anyone could help.

    I'm in the process of prototyping a game for children as apart of university project but I've hit two walls lol.

    1)Its a top down scrolling game (kinda Zelda-esk), so the map is larger than the hero and scrolls when the player gets near the screen (this works). However the hero gets stuck if I jump frames and try and save/load the heroes position when I go back, I.E.

    [A]-(Player starts here)---------->[B](travels to point B and hits a trigger that sends the player to another frame to complete a puzzle)----------->[C](once C is complete I want the player to re-start the other Frame at B's position). I've tried setting coordinates and making a .ini file, however both times the hero re-pops at the correct position but is frozen and wont move, I guess because im telling MMF to place my hero at X it keeps it there? If so how can I get round this so when my hero spawns its free to move? (if I restart the frame this of course works but means a huge traveling distance each time and is undesirable).


    2)One of my puzzles is based around children doing basic math, the idea being 'click a button two dice are rolled and then theres a space for the child to enter the answer' etc, etc, Not sure where to start on this, would anyone be willing to point me in the right direction? (not to solve it just a nudge please )

    With setting positions you can use a global value (found under first item named special) to store values between frames. Then you can say on start of frame set X and Y co-ordinates. Hope that somehow helps a tiny bit, I gotta rush.

    I will play around with some global values and see what I can do, Thanks a lot for the suggestion

    *did not have a lot of luck with the global editor, however I did find that this condition worked, 'Last "trigger" Has Been Destroyed - Set X to *** / Set Y to ***'

    Thinking about it, was that what you meant anyway? lol
