    Please Help! Scrolling Error!

    OK i was working on my online game and I cam across an error. I am doing the events: ALways> Set Window position to 0,0 from active. When the frame is suppposed to move the character stops moving unless i click. Also i am using sub apps from another frame and when the frame is moving (I have to keep clicking) the sub app starts to move accros in the direction the frame is moving. I dont know whats wrong. The game is very big with a lot of 3D buildings and maybe it is causing a lag. I also dont understand why you have to click evrytime you move for the palyer to start moving again and for the frame to center into its position. Maybe it's cause of an edit tbox or something. Its hard to understand the mouse clicking part. i cannot send an example because it is way too big and it's my online game and I wont want anyone copying stuff from it.

    i've realised about 3 post i've posted have vanished in one day with no replies. is it that this forum hates me? this is very important. i cant keep on working on my game if you cant scroll.

    i fixed the problem. well sorta. Gam_master this isn't with our game its another i am working on. anyway it was the sub app cause it was hidden on close. theres another problem. the screen moves now but it moves really slow. the animals move slower and the whole game just goes slow. i'm going to do a test on the fps and see whats wrong. as i said there are a lot buildings and stuff and the app is huge.

    the frame rate when the screen is scrolling goes to around 26-27.

    Well, that right there is your problem. A fair amount of machines will slow down and reduce in FPS when they have a lot of things like this to handle. This may or may not improve when HWA is released depending on what you are doing exactly. For the time being, remember:

    -Reduce number of ink effects
    -Use many small frames instead of a few big ones
    -Using a lower color setting will make scrolling faster. 256 colors works best for high speed scrollers but the color quality goes down the drain.

    I would suggest lowering the color, that will usually weild the best results.

    o crap i killed the game. No changing the colour wont work. Good thing i have 3 copies of the game.

    i gotta quote myself. When i changed the colour to 256 it was crap! the 3D buildings turned green and stuff. But i hcanged it to 32768 colours and it was exactly like 16 mil except the scrolling was lag free!!!!!!! wooot thank you gerble i mean gelly777. I am doing 1 HUGE frame for my game but maybe i should split it into 4 frames instead. again thanks for your help
