Flyout Menu Extension Idea - Possible?

With V4 coming, I thought it might be a good time to consider a flyout menu.

This menu has two uses. One for vertical and horizontal menus that could be used both in apps and on webpages. The other would be for tool menus as seen in Photoshop. For Photoshop-style, the difference would be that you would have more than one column of choices on the flyout.

There are also two ways, possibly, to approach this. One is an extension that does it all on its own, or maybe something that simply controls an ASB, as per my example.

You have two styles: Graphic, and plain text and background color. In my example there is one graphic and all the buttons are similar in style. For the Photoshop-style, the ASB would not cut it because you cannot dynamically change the graphic. However, you could have several ASB's used.

There are vertical and horizontal examples in my .mfa. For any kind of extension to handle this, you also want text and URL slots so that the button text and the destination can be stored and used.

There are also other style possibilities for this to consider and talk about.

I am wondering where we could go with this.

I appreciate it when people provide examples or resources that help to support an extension idea. That's a good way to make the ideas real.

It certainly would be helpful to Vitalize! if we had something like this to allow users to create site menus with speed and ease. However, as you point out, this would be great for executables, also.
