Re: MMF2 - Better Quiz Object

Close but not quite what I am looking for. If the user selects one of several possible correct answers then the quiz question is correct else if they select the wrong answer it is wrong.

They only need to select one or more correct answers for the question to be correct. I don't want to force them to select ALL correct answers.

Example: What did you have for lunch???

For lunch the user can eat:

    Turkey Sandwish or
    Tuna fish Sandwish or
    Salad or
    OTHER

They just need to select one or two of several possible correct answers. In fact I don't want them eating ALL three items because they would blow the diet. They can select just one or two of three choices.

    But if they select OTHER

Other, meaning they did not eat an approved food for the diet, then answer is incorrect because they deviated from the approved food list for that day eating perhaps a high fat food sandwish.

    Eample

    Turkey Sandwish - X
    Tuna Sanwish
    Salad
    Other
    CORRECT

    Turkey Sandwish - X
    Tuna Sanwish
    Salad - X
    Other
    CORRECT

    Turkey Sandwish
    Tuna Sanwish
    Salad
Other - X Ate a Big Mac, fries, 2 Apple Turnovers etc...
    INCORRECT

    What if a person selected
    Turkey Sandwich - X
    Tuna Sandwich - X
    Salad
    Other
    CORRECT

The editor in the quiz would have to know:
Choice 1 and 3 is OK
Choice 2 and 3 is OK
Choice 1 and 2 and 3 is wrong
Choice 1 and 2 is wrong

I wonder if thats possible -- if a rules list could be impliments.....

but in the shorter term I think you will need to code it using the objects inside MMF to have it evaluate what they selected and not use the quiz.

I will have to go review some of the big quiz packages and see how/if they support this type of situation.

Re: MMF2 - Better Quiz Object

It would read that if any of the correct answers are picked (1 or more) then correct else incorrect. Because only OTHER is the incorrect answer.

If I can get the stats report then I can compute the correct stats from that.

Otherwise you are correct I will need to program it with a decision matrix.

    Thanks.

Thank you droberson for bringing this to light.

As you may know, we really do want to make MMF2 and the extensions the best that they can be, (as Francois pointed out) so any feedback, ideas, or problems are very helpful to us in that quest.

Keep us posted on how this goes for you.

O.k. well I also got confused, I thought The Q&A object was the new quiz object! I wonder how many more people are over looking this, it seems to have a lot of programming time invested.

Re: MMF2 - Better Quiz Object

Well the Quiz Object is the advanced response to the very old and outdated Q&A object. In fact, we had much discussion on it before Francois boldly took on the problem and delivered the fantastic and powerful Quiz extension.

So, in an official sense, the Quiz Object is the new and upgraded version that supersedes the now outdated and rather obsolete Q&A.

Officially, we advise users to consider the old version as merely an compatibility with old applications object and to use the Quiz object exclusively; for any future applications.

OK drobertson, I can do what you want, but you have to find me a way to present it in the setup box. And it must not be too big as I do not have much space in the box!
