Building custom installation program

I want to make a custom installation program within MMF2 itself. I do not want to use the install creator program that's built in.

OK, mainly my question is: Can you compress files with a MMF application and then extract them?

How can I do this?

TO go along with this, I also have a question. Is it possible to compress text files into the .exe?

If you go to the application properties (open the workspace toolbar, right-click on the application, and click on properties at the bottom), there is an option that says include external files or something like that. This will compress any external files into the appication when you build it.

As for extracting them, I'm sure there's a way; but I probably just don't know it.

Hey thanks. I found out how to embed these files. That's one step closer to the solution.

Maybe there's an extension that allows you to copy a file or something like that, so that you can "copy" (extract) the file initially embedded in the application.

Just a thought.

Perhaps the directory packer can use the Unpack (This String) feature to unpack embedded files...

I believe there is an action under the Special object that does just this thing, even though I've never been able to get it working.
