Test: Running java runtime apps under mac

I thought I'd try a simple game in java under Mac OS X. Here are my results:

The game started fine, with music running fullspeed. The game, however, was running at about 1 FPS. This is a 2GHZ Core Duo machine with 1GB of RAM.

You also may note the alpha bugs. Objects with the alpha channel (that wierd overlay I put there, and the double-jump effect) show up perfectly. Objects with regular, simple transparency show up everything transparent as black. A workaround would be to enable alpha channel.

Upon going a bit more forwards, the game slowed down to 0.4FPS approximately.

I have this simple demo for download here:

Sorry, the Java runtime will not work properly on a Mac at this time as Java 6 has not yet been released for the Mac.

Ah, ok. I can work aroun the alpha bugs as of now by enabling alpha channel on everything and simplifying things all around.

Odd that it ran so slow for you, I did an object test and at 500 it was 25fps on my mac :\

This was through the browser though...

Just to let you know: transparency is fine, but it runs under 1 FPS in Linux. I am using Java 6.
