Clickteam, Please add stuff to the Animation edito

The animation editor needs a few more things. Just recently I was working on an animation and it toook me AGESSSS. I finnaly finished and I was so happy then IT CRASHED! I didn't have time to save it so I had to start all over again. You should add another save thing on the animation editor so it saves the game not the image. There should also be a layers feature, so if you want to add a weapon between the arms and the body, you can copy and past the whole weapon instead of rubbing out the bit that is overlapping the hand.

Maybe use another program to do your editing?

You're right. It's really annoying to import 100 pics from photoshop just because MMF doesn't support layers in the Animation Editor.

Consider the animation editor your inbuild MMF MSPaint.

I agree that MMF2 should have layers, but it's not exactly a feature we will all die without. Even if it did have layers, that doesn't mean it will automatically sync up with Photoshops, in fact that's extremely rare if not impossible without some secret under cover spy on Photoshops source or something, I don't know.

Anyway, I say you export and import like previously suggested, because game design is not just about thinking an idea and it just appears. You need to work at it, even if that means very tedious work such as exporting.

My game Diamond: Revolution 2 required a TON of tedious little work, especially for all of the diamond shards. I had to copy a huge sprite sheet I made in 3D Studio Max, into Photoshop, then copy each individual piece to a new photoshop file so I can export it individually to a PNG, then import it into Photoshop. Mind you, I did this for over 150 pieces.

What I'm trying to say is, if you want a really great game, you're going to need to work at it, even if that means doing stuff no one will notice or acknowledge, for the shear sake of your game being what you wanted it to be.

I agree - In my latest application project, one small insignificant feature has taken around the same length to code as the rest of my entire project. I suppose the program could have always lived *without* it.. and it would have been easy to say 'Never mind' and drop it from the feature list... but its the love of what we do.

In fact, its the little things that people seem to notice most The amount of times people have said 'Oh look, I love (insert minuscule feature here) that you put in'

Pain in the backside? In the short run, maybe... but in the end you'll look back and think it was all worth it

Hmm, this reminds me that some 3D software allows to send a texture to your favourite paint app. Means you click the button, PS or The Gimp opens up with your texture, and when done it reloads the texture back into the 3D software where you can go on then. No need to dig for the secrets, just integrate the app into MMF by such a feature. That would be marvellous

Overall agreed. MMF2 Picture Editor is a weak graphics editor nowadays. Compared to what we could do with MMF 1.5. Means beside the alpha layering stuff of course

my only problem is that it scroll's to top every time i change something, (the frame story board)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying, when you just want to do a small thing on each frame.

i would suggest it saves where you were and returns there after updating OR.

like flash the; < & > (, & .) buttons jump from one frame to the next (or back).

Don't get me wrong when I say that the editor could have improvements to it, but I think that since we do have programs like Photoshop out there, capable of doing this stuff, I say we use them for now and let more priority features and fixes take their role in near future builds.
