    re: Silverlight Runtime?

Just wondering if you think Silverlight will be better to use then java...in my experience, java apps are very inconsistent due to the different versions people may have, IF They even have it installed... ;(

just tossing this out for discussion...

    Re: re: Silverlight Runtime?

silverlight will run better than java as it is C++ or C# .net code whereas Java is C++ 6.0 code (Might even be just C), because silverlight is XP / Vista only whereas Java is multiOS

Silverlight is not Windows only. It runs on Macs as well, and is now being ported to Linux.

Silverlight from the very start supported IE, Safari and Firefox (on Windows and Mac), and I think they're working on Opera.

    Re: re: Silverlight Runtime?

It is more related to MS wanting to compete with Flash, which would be even more difficult if they created their version to only run on Windows and IE [wink]

Anyway great to see CT looking at many platforms for the runtime, giving us, the users to ultimate choice depending on our needs. The future is bright!
