    MMF2 Applications and Dual Core?

I noticed that a MMF App just uses one core.No matter how much cores your processor has. Multicore processors are the future though. And it would be a big limit when you just could use one core of the processor.

How can i adjust a MMF app to use both cores of a dual core? Better said, is it even possible? This would dramatically speed up my app.

Really? I have Dual Core and that sounds really annoying. Maybe my games are supposed to be able to handle more...

I am sure since multi-cores are the future... then in the future TGF and MMF will take advangage of them.

Re: MMF2 Applications and Dual Core?

Thanks Jeff. This answers my question: not possible to take the advantage of dual core or quad core yet. Just one core in use for a MMF app. A shame. Those processor types are around for a pretty while now. And this means at a quad core processor the app is just 1/4 as fast as it could be (Yeah, i know, it's not 1:1, but the speed would surely grow dramatically).

Well, seems that we have to wait. I hope not too long

I honestly don't think you will see this before MMF3 - I would doudt it but then Yves and Francois may have other plans.

At least we have HWA coming soon and that will give eveyone a nice performance boost.

Dual core / Quad core would basically need rewriting of the entire MMF runtime engine, and vitalize! 4 and HWA, so yeh it would be a massive thing to do

I think any multi threaded extensions should take advantage of dual core processors.
