    Licensing

    Heya - one thing -
Can I license code in .mfa files under Creative Commons without breaking the MMF2 runtime agreement?

    Re: Licensing

It was my understanding that Creative Commons licenses were more suited to media than software, although there is CC-GNU GPL and CC-GNU LGPL.

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see any problems with having the license on the MFA. However I am not sure that it would allow an EXE (which is presumably a derivative work) to be made of the MFA, as this might violate the "no DRM" and "cannot impose restrictions" clauses. For example, you are not allowed to create derivative works which disallow dissemination, but a standalone application which is a derived work of the MFA also contains an application and extensions created by third parties whose licenses do not allow for dissemination. Does the whole .exe file have to be covered by the license or just the portion directly derived from the .mfa, or is it okay so long as you provide the .mfa along with the application? The license just doesn't seem clear enough on such points for me, as it doesn't seem suited to software.

    Re: Licensing

I'm just trying to find a method of releasing code open source without people taking the same code and rebranding it or selling it.

I think what would probably be the easiest option is to copyright it and grant permission to redistribute and rework it

    Re: Licensing

MFa is like a C++ code. It is a source. And Clickteam will not claim copyright on the MFA.
Actually, we would be really happy if you could spread your MFA as much as possible, so that many people buy MMF just to look at your MFA file!!!
