    Re: Stupid question

okay:P as I've said before it will have alot more than 500 (or even 1000) objects because the game runs on one map. The bullets do already destroy when colliding with a background.

is there any tutorials or could someone point me in the right direction on how to make the game load objects that are around the window (-100)
    I didn't read this post.
Reply: Well HWA; Hardware Acceleration is in development, can your project wait for that? That should eliminate the needs for ... 5 gigs of ram... I can't even say that. How can you even be assured that there is a computer able to run this other than your own.

One of the rules of game design I learned a long time ago was know your target platform, and have a realistic target in mind.

Keep your application as small and resource efficient as possible and try to create your idea around those limits, expanding the need for resources ONLY when it is absolutely needed to make or break your idea. It's always a trade off.

16 million colors or 1000 objects...
Sub-par graphics, Fun fast and furious game play...
Super hyper graphics, puzzle based game play...
Excellent sound effects or 1 CD-ROM...

Oh and in reply to your question, one idea make an object in the center of your frame area that always positions itself to the center, or if it is a non-expanding frame area put it in the center. Then apply a distance checking calculation that test the distance off all objects in relation to that central object -100 and create/load objects like that.
This is just a quick theroy, so it might not even have validity...

    Re: Stupid question

Re-00J- Oh I figured out what was doing that:P I accidentally put if alterable valueA=1 Create object and forgot to turn it odd.

Re-Nifflas- Thanks a ton! that seems pretty reasonable I will go check that out right away! Oh, and you are totally advertising with that link:P (haha, kidding, I really liked within a deep forest, though I wouldn't mind a boss fight)

Re-00J again- Oh, well my game at the moment only has about 100 colors, it's supposed to run on almost any computer, or so I am trying to make it. (haha sad that mine lagged:S) and the graphics are hand pixeled

Heh, cool. It's good to have all that power at your disposal, but I definately try to target the most reliably running program I can muster. This is especially true if you ever plan to ask people to buy something you've designed.

    Re: Stupid question

okay, well this might be asking a bit much, but would anyone be able to add my msn so that I can ask them stupid questions when I get stuck on things I can't figure out? (roobv@hotmail.com)

    so apparently I can't edit my topic:S

oh well, anyways the other question is how do I save and load an alterable value with an ini?
so far I have for the saving
set alterable value a ("Player") to item "player" in group "player position"
