Star Field for space shooter

Hi all,
I was wondering what the best way to create a star field for a space shooter.

Right now I created 3 action objects (animated stars w/ bouncing ball movements; lrg, md, sm) and create an action to place them randomly on the screen every 1 second. (destroy them when the reach the end)

The problem I am having is all of them do not show up on the screen. Here is an example: I first add the large star action object and it works like a charm. Then I use the exact code for the small star action object, however when I run it, there are now fewer larger stars on the screen. Is there some kind of limit that MF2 has with how many action items you can have on the screen?

Is it better (faster) to create the stars as a large scrolling background png instead?

Hard to say without seeing the code but if you view the level properties you'll see that there is a setting which dictates how many Active Objects are allowed in the level. Try up-ing that and see if it helps.
