You always need to run the installer as administrator if MMF was installed into Program Files, I believe - as that's a change that affects all users on a computer rather than just one.

This may have already been talked about, but here goes anyway
While trying to build a Webstart application I get this message:

Anyone have any ideas where to get this extension? I don't remember using any fancy extensions. Hmmmm???

You must be using it someplace in your MFA?
If not please upload it so Francois can take a look.

You can't get additional extensions yet as they are still being converted. When the Java exporter is finished there will be a complete list of the extensions you can and can't use and the limitations of various extensions.

Well, if it says that you use the Active Picture, it means that in one frame of your application, there is an active picture object. To be sure, go in the data element editor, and display the extensions.
Just remove it and try to save again.

I actually DID choose the Active Picture extension thinking it was the default extension I always used -- but in reality, it was the Active extension. I deleted it and reimported the PNG file, saved, then exported the Java Webstart... and it worked!

As I stated above to Jeff, I did as you said and it worked like a charm! But now that I'm trying to run the webstart application, it gives me an error each time. I uploaded it onto a web server just to test it, nothing seems to work. Maybe you or someone has a tutorial on how to create a successful online/offline webstart application? (I'm sure I just need to be educated.)

Did you read the help file? In the section "Distributing your application". There is a page on Java WebStart...

I read it, I did it, and it doesn't work. Do you have any examples I could study. Maybe it's because I only have MMF2 standard edition? I don't know.

    Here is my example: http://www.photodigitalmemories.com/temp/frogger.jnlp

Nevermind... I did the unthinkable -- I generated an applet and then used the htm to point to the Webstart JAR file. Even though it doesn't pull open the webstart, it still works in my Firefox browser as an applet.

Is that what you were wanting me to to figure out Francois?

When i try running a built .jar file I get the message "Cannot find main class." Any suggestions? Do I need to get a more recent VM?
