    Creating Runtime Video Captures

I was just wondering how feasible it would be to take screen captures one more step-up.

The current Screen Capture Ob jet does a fine job, but is only able to create .bmp frames without the help of a commandline DOS program to great a video file. Both methods create very large file sizes, as well.

Is it possible to have an extension with some sort of open source coded/compression that would either convert the bitmaps from MMF into either a full-sized AVI or a compressed format?

Or, on the other hand, create a new object that does both the capture and then the conversion to various formats.

I think Sphax is making something like this.

    Re: Creating Runtime Video Captures

That's right. But I've not enough time to work on any extension these months...

Currently, the AVIs object can load a list of BMP files and a WAV file to create a video in AVI format. It works well with no compression but with a custom codecs it crashes a lot of time. I should debug it and update it...

Good news. I guess we are thinking along the same lines.

Also, this relates to the animation project.

While the whole idea is to make quick, compact, executables and .ccn's, users may also want to generate video files after the fact.
