    Frame limit?

    Hi everyone,

I am in the pre-production stage of a new game and am considering several different applications for its creation. My preference is to use MF2, which I've used in the past, but I'm wondering if there is a limit to the number of frames that can be used in one application. The game I am creating would require over one hundred individual frames.

    So my questions are:

    - Is there a limit to the number of frames in an application?

    - Has anyone experienced any problems with high frame counts while using MF2? (For instances, crashes, corrupted files, slowdowns, etc.)

Thanks in advance for your time and help!

    Re: Frame limit?

One of my games had just over 200 frames without problems. The frame count individually isn't a problem, it more depends on the size and complexity of the application that normally goes with having such a large number of frames.

I don't rememer if there is a limit but if so it's greater than 1000.

A few users have reported corrupted files, but not related to the number of frames. You should make backups from time to time (and anyway backups are mandatory as hardware issues often happen).

Also, when you create objects in the event editor and don't want them created when the frame start, don't remove them from the frame editor. Uncheck their "Create at start" option instead. Because I suspect this can cause problems with Undo commands in the event editor (I'm not 100% sure though).

    Re: Frame limit?

It goes without saying that with HWA reaching a stable version, you'll be able to create even larger frames with more objects than before.

    Re: Frame limit?

Thank you very much, everyone! This definitely sounds encouraging, so I think I will go with MMF2 afterall.
