    Fullscreen problem

    Ok, something's wrong. I've had fullscreen problems a couple of weeks now and I'm looking for help.

    I have my game in 320 x 200 that I want to be fullscreen. Whenever I run the game, it's like "half" fullscreen.
    Like double resolution but still not fullscreen, there's black borders around the game window too. It's if the resolution would jump to 640 x 480 but still not being fullscreen. I hope you understand what I mean.

    Also I've checked so these are ON: Compress the Runtime, Maximized on boot-up, Change Resolution Mode, V-Sync and the Display Mode is DirectX. I've tried to uncheck all of those too but to no avail.

    Before christmas there were no problems, but since I formatted my computer and also inserted some new parts I got new a RAM Memory, a new Processor and a Graphics Card.
    This new parts must be the problem, or does that matter? It should still be able to run fullscreen? Also my main screen resolution is 1280 x 1024, and it's the same as before but does that matter either?

    I'm using Multimedia Fusion 2 Standard, Build R247.
    Thanks in advance!

    It sounds like your graphics card is the problem. Some newer ones simply don't support 320x200 very well - you could look in the options for your card driver and see if there's a "Stretch small resolutions to full screen" option, or something like it. My old laptop had that option hidden away somewhere in the BIOS menu.

    My new card has a similar problem. That resolution isn't even available anymore "Resize display to fit window size" makes the game appear to change resolutions if you've also ticked "Maximize on boot-up". This can slow the app down, however.

    Can anyone running the HWA beta determine if this slowdown problem exists while using hardware acceleration?

    There's no full screen in HWA yet. They're trying to work out all the other bugs first.

    Open the DirectX properties in the Windows control panel, there is an option for the 320x200 mode in the DirectDraw tab, but I don't know if it can fix this problem.

    Re: Fullscreen problem

    I'm having kinda the same problem. And I have a test for Yves that may help him detect what's wrong:

    1) Create an app 640x480 or 800x600 full-screen with DirectX as display;
    Note that there is a black border with the same size as the titlebar on top. If you click on top and drag for a few seconds, you will see a titlebar without a system menu;

    2) If you Alt+TAB the application and then switch back to it, the border is gone and the frame is shown correctly.

    It must be some issue when MMF2 is changing the mode to fullscreen with Directx enabled.

    Re: Fullscreen problem

    Thanks everyone for the help.
    David: I'm having problem with finding such an option.
    Yves: I cannot find anything about DirectX in my Windows Control Panel.

    Re: Fullscreen problem

    Sorry guys for bumping this thread so late, but a couple of days ago I discovered something that I wanted to tell you about.

    When I create a New Project I can have a perfect fullscreen, even if the game properties is the same as my game!
    I don't understand why that is. That means something is wrong with my game.
    I don't know if anyone could help me further after having told you this, but maybe there is some other solutions now.

    Once again, thanks.
