Opening Old MMF1 File - Extension Not Found!

Hey all, I'm trying to open up an old MMF 1.5 project I was working on, and for some reason it wont let me open it because of missing extensions that are MMF 1.5 only. Now I know all about putting MMF 1 extensions in the MMF1 folder inside extensions, I've known that since the demo was release last year. My question being though, is why it still insists on trying to find the MFA extension files.

Any help on the matter? Thanks.

PS: I would open the project in MMF1, but it has issues with Vista.

(MMF 1.5 Locks up at the splash screen.)

It says "webgrab.mfx" because it tries first to find the .mfx, that doesn't mean it didn't try to load the .cox file. It's MMF2, it's not MMF 1, so it's normal it says "cannot find .mfx" instead of "cannot find .cox".

Try putting cncs232.dll in the extensions\mmf1 folder, that could solve the problem (if webgrab.cox is in this folder too).

To unlock MMF 1.5 on Vista, go to the extensions folder and rename kcqt*.cox to kcqt*.xxx.

I'll give these a shot. I really appreciate it! Thanks.

    Edit:
Now MMF2 is saying it can't load dmc2.mfx
Holy crap... how many extensions did I use in this dang thing.
I fixed it though... thanks for the help on both subjects!

for dmc2.cox you should put "bass.dll" in the mmf1 folder too.

That wasn't the problem. The problem was, for some reason when I backed up all my extensions like 3 years ago, the dmc2.cox one got corrupt or something. I redownloaded it, and it worked.

The reason I thought about this was, because dmc2.cox was in MMF 1.5's folder too, and the file still wouldn't open in MMF 1.5.

So do you have the bass.dll?

You need that or I believe the dmc2.cox won't open.

Yeah, I had it. I was just implying that the problem wasn't bass.dll related. I know that "dmc2.cox not found" will be reported if bass.dll isn't there. I had it happen to games of mine in the past, before MMF2 brought the world of OGG into existence for me.
