I'm curious if someone might be able to answer... but what truly makes a MooClick server different from any other server, and how might I be able to host a server without using my own computer, that I can rely out.

A MooClick server is just a MMF application running on a servercomputer. You will have to find someone willing to run that application 24/7 on their server.
I know that... I mean what is making a MooClick server so much different then a normal server. I've been using Moo since I was 13, I get the gist of how it works, I'm just working on trying to get a reliable server up and running smoothly. For some reason, almost everyone is having a difficult time connecting to me, even though my ports are all forwarded and my firewall is off.
Those problems might occur when you are behind a router. Why? I don't know. We would need an answer from the people who actually made MOO click I guess.
I agree, it sucks though that they've been out of contact for years. They create such a professional atmosphere, and it's so disappointing to know that they are completely unorganized and never seem to be able to hold to their promises. How long have we been waiting for their MooClick hosting services? There are many reasons to lose faith in OEE, they made an amazing set of extensions, but their support is absolutely horrendous to say the least.
As far as the MOO extensions go, we are lucky to have them for MMF2 and be able to compile them for new versions.
Since it seems that 3ee has been inactive in this sense for so long, I don't think it is fair to condemn them for poor service at this stage. They have moved on to other things, it seems.
Rather, thank them for making the extensions available in the long-run and try to work with/around the bugs until something replaces them.
Perhaps clickteam can make their own online object somewhere down the line?![]()

Perhaps but it would be either a new programmer or a contractor.
Yves and Francois are focusing on the engine.
That being said Jamie is doing a lot of work with a project he calls OINC
OINC is a MOO replacement and more -- Anyone and better everyone interested in multi-users extensions should be visiting the extension forum and getting into the OINC tests.
Currently there is a socket test going on -- The more people who test and show interest the faster the project will move forward.
Its a bit slow right now because we can't find enough testers to help debug each component.
So if a better, easier multi-user system is what you want I would highly thank you for getting involved in testing OINC.
I wasn't trying to put them down, I was just saying that even before they went inactive, they still had very little to no support for their extensions, besides an inactive support forum. I even said myself that the extension itself was amazing, and since I forgot to mention that I was very thankful for it, I just did now, I am. I just think that such a great extension, deserves more support for it. I didn't mean for what I said to be taken offensively, I was merely pointing out an issue.Originally Posted by Novabrain
